In response to feedback from principals and other stakeholders, the NYCDOE consolidated the many regulations governing programming, graduation requirements, exam administration, and student data from the City and State into three reference guides. Since then, the Elementary, Middle, and High School academic policy guides have been updated several times to include new guidance and regulations relevant to day-to-day school operations and programming.

These documents are primarily written for schools but published for transparency. Additionally, documents that are linked throughout the guides may not be available to non-DOE staff members.
